Bharat Biotech and The University of Maryland Center for Vaccine Development ("CVD") announced a significant milestone achievement- receiving a USD 4 Million Strategic Translation Award from The Wellcome Trust for clinical development of a new conjugate vaccine including initial clinical trials beginning in three years to prevent the potentially lethal infectious disease caused by invasive non-typhoidal Salmonella (NTS)Experts from Bharat Biotech and University of Maryland's are upbeat on the prospects of developing NTS Conjugate Vaccine. DuBiotech to ink pact with IDMA; offers array of incentives for Indian pharma companies

Dubai Biotechnology and Research Park (DuBiotech), one of the top life sciences clusters in the Middle East region embracing the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and medical device, and healthcare technology industries, is soon to enter into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Indian Drug Manufacturers' Association (IDMA).

• This MoU promises to open newer avenues for the Indian life sciences community with the opportunities in the Middle East market through the platform of the DuBiotech free zone.
•  The park offers a conducive environment including an innovative academic and commercial infrastructure where Indian pharma companies can greatly benefit from, and contribute to. India, Spain to begin collaborative programmes in biotech sector soon

The objective of this joint Indo-Spanish programme is to promote and fund market-driven research and technology development as well as to encourage partnerships and business-led R&D&I collaborative projects in the field of biotechnology. The programme aims to launch ambitious joint projects of a high international standard between Indian and Spanish organisations. Potential projects will be funded by DBT in India and CDTI in Spain.
Joint programme for co-operation between India and Spain wassigned by the Department of Biotechnology of India (DBT) and the Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI), Spain on November 22 last year. The DBT and the CDTI are the nodal implementing agencies from the Indian and Spanish side respectively.

Chennai-based Perfint gets biotech award

Chennai-based health equipment company Perfint Healthcare Corporation has won the Department of Biotechnology's Biotech Product and Process Development and Commercialisation award for this year.
The award was presented by the former President, Abdul Kalam, on the occasion of National Technology Day.
